The Bayside Blues softball program was established in 1992 in Calvert County, Maryland. Calvert County is located in southern Maryland, approximately a half hour south of Annapolis. It is a completely unsponsored organization, and the team members fund raise to pay for tournamnet fees and purchase uniforms. They travel to play a select group of competetive teams across the nation. Most teams practice twice a week and play every weekend April through August. Playing at such a high level allows girls to be seen by colleges. This exposure has allowed fifty plus girls to have the privelege to play on scholarship at Division I and II colleges and universities.
