All

Bandits
Updates.
August highlight was Porsche hosting a launch of their
Challenge Sponshorship. Porsche handed over 8 of their
latest racing bikes PLUS a Porsche Boxter as a Support
Vehicle. Primary physical achievement was development of
the right arm and liver exercise. The
Fabulous 5 (mainly aided by PB) hosted a fantastic
Bandits Challenge Evening at Petes Dads Movie House.
Absolutely Mega. Wives and families were treated to some
additional entertainment from the Bandits (as if the
movie wasnt enough!!) Memorable performances from Ricardo
and Cameron. (the unforgetable Perce)
Another highlight was the Phil Anderson
Tour de France Wrapup. This involved dinner and presos
from many australian cycling big guns who had attended Le
Tour FOLLOWED by a ride along the Great Ocean Road with
PHIL ANDERSON himself. Needless to say the Bandits lead
out and they soon had Phil a quivering mass begging them
to slow down (watch out for those flying pigs guys)
No major training events come to mind
other than the usual weekend hammering antics.....
News from the
All Trails Training Centre.
G'day Challengers
Our regular Sunday training tour has just finished, with
one guy getting 3 flat tyres. Bad luck or bad tyres.
Don't know! Make sure your tyres, tubes, brakes and gears
are good. You'll need them.
Susan and I are away for 18 days taking a group of MTB
riders across the Simpson Desert and Flinders Ranges.
Next training ride for me will be to Mornington on Sun
16th Sep 8am St Kilda Pier. (All going well.)
Some riders are asking about transport to Sydney Airport
on Sunday 21st Oct. We intend to run one bus from
Rosehill to Sydney Airport 4pm Sunday afternoon. Hope
this can fit in with your plans.
Dennis Nation from Tasmania was the lucky winner of the
free entry for Melbourne Sydney ride. When I rang Dennis
with the good news, he was at home nursing a recent cycle
injury, and I must say, he was very happy. Sorry we
didn't tell you earlier, although Dennis's name was on
our website immediately his name was drawn.
I have been negotiating with various insurance companies
for some sort of personal cover, with limited success.
Maybe next year. However we offer UTAG insurance complete
package cover at $62 if anyone is interested. Contact us
for a brochure or collect one from your travel agent.
Don't forget, this is a big ride, so please put in a big
training effort. For the cyclists sake, we would prefer
not to pick up riders lagging behind, however to assist
safety and co-ordination for all, there will be cut off
times for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
As I mentioned earlier Susan and I will be away from the
phone and office from August 23rd till Sept 9th. Anything
urgent on the phone or email, we can follow through by
same, otherwise we will speak to you after Sept 9th.
We will be having a training ride this Sunday July 29th.
9am at St Kilda Pier Rotunda.
We will ride to Frankston & back, about 80km.
Next Sunday, 5th August.
9am All Trails Bicycle Tours 14 Maroondah Hwy Lilydale
Mel 38 C4, cnr. John
Street.
We will ride from Lilydale to Monbulk and back a
different route, about
60km.
Sunday 12th August.
9am at St Kilda Pier Rotunda.
We will ride to Mornington and back, about 100km.
Hope you can come to one or all of these rides.
Happy Trails
Phil
