Trails Team training for the Challenge. Fabulous Five Bandits Preparations. The highlight of September was another mental health ride to Arthurs Seat and back. Challenge Participants were Alistair, Peter, Wazza (accompanied by the Perfect Storr and Jae o Mara). Jae had came just come off the back of a hard month a partying and paid a heavy price for the ride. The ride up Arthurs Seat was a real Lactic Acid cocktail, quickly chased down by a Schooner of the Swoops. The Porsches took the ride in their stride and it felt good to only lug 8kgs of bike up those big gradients. School holidays have
dug a hole in the training schedule but in essence ... Nuggety Phil appears to have the most coherent program with long aerobics trips on the Porsche whilst the rest of us hammer away on Beach Road. But hey, there must be something in all those muggachoinos that will pay off on the day. Alistair has taken leave, so he will be in intensive Liver Training. PB is busy giving the wannabees curry for the King of the Mountain...so he is busy Waz had 12 days off the bike [which was
very stressful for his family and him (in that order)]
Holidayed in Newcastle & borrowed a beaut column
shifter tri bike from colleage Frank, and knocked off a
couple of rides. First one was a Newcastle classic. The
Broadmeadow racetrack circuit. Which is about 3 kms long
and was actually good fun as there are no lights (and the
cars brake for bikes) So that was good. Also did a Tour
de Newc from Adamstown, to Bar Beach, to Knobbys, to BHP,
to Mayfeild and a pop in to mates Dek n Pen for banana
and coffee, and then home via Goninans. Easy Peasy. News from the
All Trails Training Centre. |
