March

it's March alreadie?! My gosh... okay, we still got a lot to cover but at least we're getting some stuff done. We just need to get the dates straight... and we're ready!

The web crew for our church got a digital camera so hopefully we'll be able to use it!

....and that's it for now!

Febuary

Everybody is getting so busy with basketball, track, college stuff...etc etc but we have sooooooooo much to cover for jr. yba! But I'm so happy that many of us are contributing some way or another and that's is very very helful. Thank you so so so much! We have a social event, dance, volleyball tournament, retreat and more coming up so look foward to it! (^_^) Isn't is so amazing we might have a volleyball team this year? We haven't had it for 5-6 yrs!! aiyayaya

January

Heh, I was too busy I skipped December... but it was good seeing you chair the service at Bodhi day. Sorry it was so sudden. I will try to be more updated with you guys! That'll be my goal this year! I also hope that we can hopefully plan some social activities so we can get our chapter into motion!

November

First of all, I want to welcome in Kurtis Leong as our new member!! Yay~. Okay, well anyways, I went to the Fresno Conference with Colette.

There were about 200 high school students there that came from Sacramento, San Jose, Fowler, San Mateo, Berkeley, Fresno (of course), Parlier, etc etc. I was very amazed by the diversity of the people there. The YBA roots its history back to Japan so it was mainly Japanese American people but I saw many different races this year and that was very good.

Most of our conference was based on getting to know other members. We did musical chairs, scavanger hunts, ice breakers, etc. I had a lot of fun. Only two people went from our chapter last year so I hope more people could go next year! (^_^)

October

Thank you soo much for coming to the meeting today! (10/14) I was delighted to see all of you to starting off the new year. Thank you for being so enthusiastic about electing board members and new plans for this year. I think this year's going to be even more exciting than the last one (^_^)

I also thank each one of you of being so enthusiastic in having new members. Kiger, Kelly, and Emily:I appreaciate you guys so much on listing so many names of possible new members. Collette: Thank you so much for the volunteer ideas!

I've also kinda noticed from last year that we lack importance and sometimes respect compared to the other chapters. I don't mean any specific chapter is being mean to us but I feel that we should have more presence in the Bay District jr. YBA. Therefore, we're gonna do some real business here and ahem, *kick butt* this year, or so I hope. Right guys? lol Well, what I wanna say is we can get some involvement here. I don't mean having meetings everyday and making us busy but just being energetic and all. oh yea! (^_')

Okay here are the dates for Bay District meetings:

September

Beginning of the 2001-2002 year! I am very anticipated to start this year since it is my last year at jr. YBA. (^_^)

I only have one main goal for this year... and that is more members!! LOL

But it's very true. We are the smallest chapter in the Bay District alone! We may be the smallest chapter in California! Well... I dunno about that. I don't mean to compare or compete with them but I just thought we could be more active with more members.

I understand that the jr.YBA was "dead" so we weren't really active. But it would be really cool if we were. I checked out a couple of other jr. YBA sites and they had charity projects, picnics, shopping/sleepover days etc. and I was like, wow, they look really fun. If anyone can bring in new members that will be great (or anyone looking at this website) great great!!! And please make one point clear: jr. YBA is not a religious youth organization! Sure, we are affiliated to BCSF but most of the things we do are, volunteering and go to dances, conferences, retreats etc, just like any other kind of club.
