Rueben Snow Magnolia

We brought Rueben home on 12-22-00, a short while after Sugar had passed away. Rueben was named after his sister, Snow is for the Sugar part, seeing how there both white, and well, Magnolia says it all. Even though Rueben never met Sugar, they are alot alike in ways. Rueben is full of spunk, and bounces into everything. He had the pleasure of meeting Matilda and China before they passed on, even though there time was short together, Matilda taught him many things. She taught him how to play under the rug, and how to jump on mommies computer stand. Rueben does like to nip at feet sometimes, and has a bad habit of trying to chew on the phone chord when your talking on it. I've learned by mistake to never grab him while he's chewing on the phone, because he will bite really hard, but to grab the phone itself, until he lets go. Some of Ruebens favorite things to do is, play in his little PVC tube we have for the ferrets to play in, he plays hide n seek with his brother and sister. He also likes to eat, eat, eat, eat, and eat. He also loves those little peanut butter flavored ferret treats. I have to keep the box put up, or else he will eat them all in one sitting. Rueben likes to play a little rough with his ferret brother and sister, but he's slowly learning not to drag them across the room by there head. He's an albino ferret, and is a really bouncy ferret, and hates to get a bath. He's been a joy to have around, and i hope to have him for many healthy years to come. Love ya Rueben!

On the morning of August the 4th of 2004, the lady who lived below us in our apartment building caught fire. Unfortanantly, Rueben was one of those to perish. The firemen were able to save the bodies of all 7 that had passed in the flames. Only one survived, that is RubyClaire. Rueben was my little scaredy ferret. He would get spooked by the sound of the vaccum cleaner, or just the site of it. He would always run to his cage, and crawl inside of his tube and hide there for hours, until he knew for sure the coast was clear. He was my little red-eyed beauty, that liked to nip at my feet from time to time. But, he was always Loved by me, and will always continue to be Loved. I miss you my little Rueben.

Cherise was brushing her long hair gently down. It was the afternoon of Carnival, As she brushes it gently down. Reuben was strumming his painted mandolin. It was enlaid with a pretty face in jade. Played the Carnival Parade. Cherise was dressing as Pirouette in white, When a fatal vision gripped her tight, Cherise, beware tonight. Reuben, Reuben, tell me truly true, I feel afraid and I don't know why I do, Is there another girl for you? If you could see in my heart, You would know it's true, There is none, Cherise, except for you, Except for you. I swear to it on my very soul, If I lie may I fall down cold. When Reuben played on his painted mandolin, The breeze would stop and listen in, Before going its way again. Masquerade began when nightfall finally woke, Like waves against the bandstand dancers broke, To the painted mandolin. Looking out on the crowd, who is standing there? Sweet Ruby Claire at Reuben stared, At Reuben stared. She was dressed as Pirouette in red, And her hair hung gently down. The crowd pressed round, Ruby stood as though alone. Reuben's song took on a different tone, And he played it just for her. The song that he played was the Carnival Parade, Each note cut a thread of Cherise's fate, It cut through like a blade. Reuben was playing his painted mandolin, When Ruby froze and turned to stone, For the strings played all alone. If you could see in my heart, you would know it's true, There is none, Cherise, except for you, Except for you. The voice of Cherise from the face of the mandolin, Singing Reuben, Reuben, tell me true, For I have no one but you. If you could see my heart, You would know it's true, There is none, Cherise, except for you, Except for you. I swear to it on my very soul, If I lie, may I fall down cold. The truth of love an unsung song must tell, The course of love must follow blind, Without a look behind. Reuben walked the streets of New Orleans till dawn, Cherise so lightly in his arms, And her hair hung gently down. Ahoy, old ferryman, riverboat of Charon ride, Though alive, take Reuben to the other side, For his sweet Cherise has died. It's a long lonely walk from Hell to the burying ground, Cherise may return but don't you look around, For your glance would cut her down.
