Fudgy Bars
Fudgy Bars
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Sift together flour, salt, and baking
soda; set aside. Cream butter and brown sugar until light
and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in dry
ingredients; mix well. Stir in oats. Press mixture over the
bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan. In a medium saucepan,
combine sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips.
Stir over low heat until chocolate melts; stir in butter.
When mixture is smooth, stir in walnuts and vanilla.
Pour over flour mixture in pan. Bake 25 minutes.
Cool; cut in bars to serve.
