Raisin Cookies
Raisin Cookies
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
Instructions:
In a pan, combine sugar, water, raisins, shortening, and
salt. Stir over low heat until the sugar and shortening have
melted. Raise heat and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
Simmer 1 minute; remove from heat and let cool. Stir dry
ingredients together in mixing bowl. Add cooled mixture and
combine well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie
sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
