- 4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup small raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions:
Sift flour and baking powder together; add sugar, nutmeg, and rub in butter lightly with finger tips; beat eggs and add 3/4 of it to dry ingredients; add milk to make a fairly soft dough. Roll out and cut into shapes. Place on greased baking sheet; brush over with remaining egg and bake at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
