Vanilla Refrigerator Cookies

• 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Instructions:
Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, salt, soda, and nuts. Divide dough into 3 equal parts; shape each part into roll 1 1/2” in diameter, and about 7” long. Wrap; chill at least 4 hours. Heat oven to 400°. Cut rolls into 1/8” slices. Place 1” apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
Yields about 7 dozen cookies.
