Whiskey Cookies
    
Whiskey Cookies
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
 - 1/2 pound margarine (2 sticks)
 - 3 eggs
 - 1/3 cup whiskey, use rum or any 80 proof whiskey
 - 1 pound of cut up and pitted dates
 - 1/2 pound of light raisins
 - 1 pound cut up walnuts
 - 3 cups flour, sifted 3 times with
 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
 - Candied cherries, halved
 
Instructions:
Cream together the sugar, margarine & eggs.  Add remaining ingredients except cherries.  Mix together thoroughly.  It is a very stiff dough.  Drop from a teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet, two inches apart.  Top with a cherry half.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes.
Makes about 100 cookies.
