Salisbury Steak #2
- 1 egg
- 3 Tablespoons crushed butter-flavored crackers
- 1 Tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon sage
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1 can mushrooms or fresh (4 ounces)
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 3 Tablespoons flour
- 1 3/4 Cup water
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/4 teaspoon browning sauce, optional
- Hot mashed potatoes
Instructions:
In med. bowl combine egg,cracker crumbs, onion, seasonings. Add beef
and mix. Shape into two patties. In med. skillet, cook patties
until brown, drain. Remove to platter and keep warm in same skillet,
saute mushrooms in butter stir in flour blend well. Add water and
bouillon, cook and stir until smooth and thickened. Stir` in browning
sauce. Return patties to gravy and cook uncovered, over low heat for`
10 min., stirring occasionally. Serve with mashed potatoes. Yields 2
servings.
