Cabbage Casserole
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped in big hunks
- 1 pound sausage (pan) mild or hot
- 2 large onions, round sliced
- 5 or 6 potatoes, round sliced, peeled or unpeeled
Instructions:
Brown sausage, drain. In a large stock pan, put half of the cabbage - season with salt and pepper. Add sausage, half of the potato slices and 1 of the onions. Season with a little more salt and pepper. Then add the rest of the cabbage, potatoes and end with the remaining onion on top. Add 1 cup of water, cover tightly with foil and put in the oven at 350 degrees for about 2 hours, stirring half way through cooking time. (If I have beef bouillon cubes on hand, I dissolve 2 or 3 to the cup of water.
