Dutch Meat Loaf
- 1 medium onion
- 3 slices bread
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 - 8 ounce can tomato sauce, divided
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Instructions:
Peel and chop onion, fine. Pull bread into crumbs with a fork. Beat egg until bubbly. Add onion, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, worcestershire, dry mustard and 1/2 cup tomato sauce to the ground beef. Mix together lightly but thoroughly. Pack meat mixture into a 9x5x3 loaf pan. Mix the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, water, mustard and brown sugar together and pour over the meat loaf. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered 1 1/2 hours. Slice and serve
