Snickerdoodles
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cup sifted flour
- 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt and mix thoroughly. Roll into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Roll balls in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees until lightly browned but still soft.
