Texas Hash
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 teasppon pepper
- 1 can (16 0z) tomatoes
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup catsup
Instructions:
In a large skillet, saute beef, onions, green peppers and garlic in hot oil over medium high heat until beef is brown and onions are tender. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer over low heat until rice is tender, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
