Gracious God
Gracious God,
You didn’t bleed enough
To forgive all the sins of the world.
Mothers falling to their knees
As they plead,
For the fires to stop burning the bodies
Of their beautiful babies.
The smell of burning flesh,
Sliding off black bones.
When is this going to stop?
How long is this going to last?
Another flood is due,
So we can erase the past.
And start over anew.
But without a past,
History will continue to repeat.
There will be more men covered in white sheets.
There will be more men piloting death planes.
There will be more men laundering money.
There will be more men committing genocide.
There will be more men with sniper guns.
Such much blood will cover the earth,
That we won’t be able to drink the water.
