Hero

they say that
a hero can save us from ourselves
as humanity sins against life and liberty
god will form a representation of man
a vessel created from innate good and well-being
someone will rescue us
from our own wars
from our own killings
from our own rapes
from our own hates
from our own tortures
someone will save humanity from itself
no more helping with bombs
no longer will we label freedom on the sides of warheads
no longer will a man abuse his son
as payback for his father's actions
they say a hero will save us.
