Quilt of a Man

I wish I could weave all of these things into you
These ideas of a perfect man.
One who is sweet,
understanding,
loving,
protective and strong.
One who is nuturing,
caring,
warm,
resolute and firm.
One who would cook,
clean
provide for himself,
and me.
One who is open-minded,
easy-going and hardworking.
All of these and more I wish I could weave into you.
Yet, I remain powerless,
For I do not know how to sew.
