Think You Know

Everyone thinks they know,
The truths of life.
But you can never fully understand,
Your brother’s or sister’s strife.
You don’t know what poor is.
You don’t know what hungry is.
You don’t know what tired is.
How could you relate?
You think you know
Because you watch the news and TV shows,
But you don’t know anything.
You don’t know what rich is.
Think its all fun and games,
And refuse to see the pain.
Money makes you look better,
But your still fucked up inside.
It’s just that behind the cash
There’s a place to hide.
None of that is important,
It’s who you chose to be.
Do you decide your destiny?
Will you let your mind rot in ignorance?
Or will you look around and take a glance,
At life?
You talk about the freedoms,
To do as you please,
Which is why you’re dressed
As a bitch on the street.
Then you say to yourself,
It’s a shame,
That people in other countries,
Don’t have the freedom to be
A whore like me.
They are oppressed and are
Men’s slaves by force.
But I have a choice
To be a smut,
And disrespect all that I am.
I’m so proud to be an American.
Then you travel to the Middle East
And wear the least,
Amount of clothing,
And wonder why they look at you funny.
When in Rome,
Do as the Romans do.
How you would like it,
If you invited someone to your home,
And they disrespected you?
I’m tired of hearing about all these fucking wars.
What are they for?
If you’re looking for W.M.D
Just look at me,
And every other kid on the street.
You think you know what’s real.
But nobody knows the truth.
Not even me,
But I refuse to drown,
In this hypocrisy.
