Biography of Peasblossom

My name is Peasblossom. I am a loyal servant of Titania. My name was given to me by my mistress. I was born during the time when pea plants begin to blossom. This means I was born in mid or late March. I love music, art, along with other forms of expression. I marvel at the mortals works of art. I can create modest works of my own. I love to play my ocarina in my spare time as well as sing to myself. I especially love to play during the night when the moonlight shows bright, as I sit on the slops of the fjord. I dream about many things. People often say I have crazy ideas and a wild imagination.

I was told that my mom was beautiful and was a wonderful songtress. She died when Queen Mab, the fairies midwife, was helping her give birth to me. My mom was a chambermaid of Titania’s. My Queen deeply cared for my mother, and took it upon herself to bring me up. I have no knowledge whatsoever of my father.

My best friend in the entire land is Cobweb, she was born in July. Her name is Cobweb because when she was born spiders were now adults. So, they began spinning huge cobwebs that seem to dominate everything. We tend to share the same interests and emotions. I am always going to her for advice and support. She is a great friend. I am the youngest out of all the fairies so it seems like I have known them forever.

My other fairy friends are Mustardseed and Moth. Mustardseed was born in April and Moth was born in August. Mustardseed is very, how shall I put this..... crazy. I don’t mean crazy like me, but she is an untamable creature. She has such fire and energy. I wonder where she gets it from. I do enjoy her company though. She always makes me laugh. I don’t know to much about Moth. She is kind of like our group leader. I never could really understand her. She appears a bit selfish and self-centered to me. At least she isn’t as bad as Oberon’s fool.

Puck is the most infernal creature I ever laid my eyes upon. He always goes around pulling pranks. I wonder if he’ll ever use the brains that were given to him. I don’t know to much about him. All I know is that I despise him like the devil. He tricked me once and I became so perturbed, I gave the scoundrel a good slap to his head. I’ll bet he’ll never bother me again, that is if he wants to keep in good health. Moth doesn’t seem to despise him though. In fact if I didn’t know better I’d say she has eyes for the devil. Well, enough about Robin.

I have much respect for my mistress and will give my life in order to keep her from harm. She is like a mother to me, and I love her accordingly. I don’t see how she could be merry with that Oberon. He isn’t a bad fellow, but I don’t like him too much. My mistress has been terribly upset lately. Oberon wants her Indian boy, Taj Mahatma. His mother like mine was a servant of Titania’s. She died and Titania wants to raise him. Taj is really nice. I was able to hold a few conversations with him and he is really sweet for a mortal. I do hope that Oberon doesn’t take him away. I enjoy his company, and don’t want his innocence to be lost. He says I am the best singer he has every heard. He is skilled at playing the sitar, and plays it as I sing. The last time I saw him was before I left to accompany Titania to the Duke’s wedding day.
