FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED

This page is dedicated to all who have suffered, and especially to those who are severely disabled...you are very dear to my heart.  Some day you'll cross that river, and fight your final war with pain!  May we all realize that no amount of suffering we may have experienced can ever equate that that our precious Lord and Saviour suffered on the cross for our sins.
And Affliction and suffering works to establish us firmly in Him, causing our roots to dig deep so we will not be moved by wind or storm...strong and immovable!

I asked God for Strength that I might achieve,
I was made Weak that I might learn humbly to obey...

I asked for Health that I might do greater things,
I was given Infirmity that I might do better things...

I asked for riches that I might be happy,
I was given Poverty that I might be wise....

I asked for Power that I might have the praise of men,
I was given Weakness that I might feel the need of God...

I asked for All Things, that I might enjoy life,
I was given Life that I might enjoy all things...

I got nothing that I asked for ~but everything I had hoped
for;
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among all men, most richly blessed!

I first saw the above, engraved on a plaque hanging in the lobby of a Rehabilitation Center where I was a patient.  As I paused to read it, I  could hardly believe my eyes....it was almost as if it  were written just for me--or by me.  Although it is believed to have been written many years ago by a confederate soldier, it certainly fit my situation.  So, I immediately adopted it as my very own.  Since that day, it has become such a part of me that I seldom fail to mention it as I speak to various clubs and organizations.
Yes, I was given Infirmity that I might do --not great things--but better things; and I was given Life, praise God, that I might enjoy all things.  And seeing Life from a wheelchair not only changed my level of viewing life, but broadened my appreciation of it!
I can truthfully say, Thank you God, for Life, and Thank you God for ETERNAL LIFE!
~~

Yes, He suffered and gave His life blood for you and
me.
But today we serve a risen Saviour....
He Lives!

MY CHAIR-IOT

Thank you Lord for my chair-iot of wheels
Thank you Lord You know how it feels;
Seeing things from my chair-iot changed my level of view, but broadened my appreciation of life and You.

On Earth here below I know I am slow
My legs hang down and it's hard to get around;
But I know that it's best to keep pressing on
Continuing in my chair-iot 'til You call me home.

I wait for the day I will enter His gates
My wheels left on earth and my legs replaced;
I will then shout for joy and dance with praise
Thanking my Lord that He died and was raised!
