Developed into key reliever for the Jackets as a sophomore....Has a good, live low-90s fastball with heavy sink....Will only continue to improve as he develops consistency on the mound.

2009: Remained in extended Spring Training to begin season before joining Class A Rome for four appearances in April....promoted to Class A Myrtle Beach and turned in 1-2-3 inning in relief in Carolina League debut 5/4.

2008: Placed on disabled list to begin season following off-season Tommy John elbow surgery....joined Gulf Coast League Braves 7/23 and appeared in three games.

2007: Assigned to Class A Rome Braves (South Atlantic League) to begin pro career....earned first professional win 4/11 vs. Kannapolis....placed on the disabled list 8/1 and did not pitch for the remainder of the season.

2006: Member of All-ACC Academic Baseball team....Bothered by biceps tendinitis which limited action following impressive 3/25 start vs. North Carolina....threw just 38 pitches during the remainder of the regular season....selected in the ninth round of the June Draft by the Atlanta Braves....joined Orleans Cardinals of Cape Cod League in late July....signed professional contract with Braves 8/22.

2005: Picked up win in first collegiate start 3/8 vs. William & Mary....recorded first collegiate save 5/1 at Clemson....named Most Outstanding Player of NCAA Atlanta Regional after gaining win in relief vs. Furman 6/3 and working seven shutout innings in regional-deciding victory over South Carolina 6/6....pitched for Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League during the summer....threw a scoreless inning in relief for the East during the Cape Cod League All-Star Game 7/28 at Hyannis, Mass....rated by Baseball America as the No. 20 prospect at Cape Cod....named to the 49th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll.

2004: Worked a scoreless inning of relief in first collegiate appearance 2/21 vs. Villanova....turned in two scoreless innings vs. Miami 4/3 allowing just one hit while striking out three to begin stretch of four consecutive scoreless relief outings....Pitched during summer for Keene Swampbats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

High School: A four-year letterwinner as a shortstop and pitcher for coach Hugh Buchanon at Parkview High School....Named the Gwinnett County Pitcher of the Year in 2002 and 2003 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution....Helped Parkview win state championships in 2001 and 2002....Set a school record for wins when he went 12-2 with a 2.21 ERA as a junior....pitched for the USA Baseball Junior National Team during summer of 2002, helping lead the team to the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec....Posted an 8-1 record and a 2.64 ERA as a senior, striking out 63 and issuing 11 walks in 55.2 innings....Also lettered three years as a wide receiver and defensive back in football....Helped Parkview win football state championships in 2000 and 2001....Played for the East Cobb Yankees team that won the Connie Mack World Series in the summer of 2003....A four-year member of the Parkview Honor Roll.
