Harukanaru Toki no Nakade (HaruToki) Card set 1 scans
| Cards 1-9 |
- show the same image as the first shitajiki. |
| Cards 10-18 |
- our first glimpse of our main characters. |
| Cards 19-27 |
- the rare cards, on washi paper, with delicate watercolor manga imagery. I love Akane's outfit - fabulous style throughout this series! |
| Cards 28-36 | - these some character expressions from the game |
| Cards 37-45 | - more expression cards |
| Cards 46-54 |
- Ooh, different fashions! Tenma and Yorihisa look good as always, and wow to Tomomasa in that suit! |
| Cards 55-63 | - The second line includes mysterious masked Akuram, the third the harsh henchman Ikuteidaru. |
| Cards 64-72 |
- This page includes more vipers - swift, cynical henchman Safuru, elegant and spiteful dancing witch Shirin (Serene?), and lost hearted Ran.
|
| Cards 73-81 |
- The second card is one of my favorites.
|
| Cards 82-90 |
- The brighter central cards are closest to true color, due to my dim scanner bulb dulling the color of the border cards. |
| Cards 91-99 |
- Nice Tenma and Yorihisa at the bottom. Notice the animal images - like Fushigi Yuugi's warriors, these eight are split along the four lines of the directions/elements. The gods' names (like Gembu) reflect the same animistic division. |
| Cards 100-108 |
- And nice battle images of the others too. |
| Cards 109-117 |
- Some nice individual images |
| Cards 118-126 |
- I love the three bottom images here! |
Some of the card fronts and most of the card backs include descriptive information, phrases or poems, in a pretty cursive Japanese font. The backs of the cards are very well-developed! There are several types of card backs, including:
A set which shows the scenes from the opening movie - all 9 here.
A set with line drawings of the characters.
A set which shows the intricate detail of the game background landscapes, with tiny insets of assorted small life and creatures from the game - examples here and a more typical one here.
A set with game scenes bordered in green or blue - examples here and here.
A set with a poem or line for each primary character - all 9 here.
A puzzle set - all 9 here.
If you're interested in the game scenes, here are all of them on one page (trimmed down to the individual image without the card data). Again, a little darker than on the cards themselves. Lots of interesting things going on!
These are the SP cards - they are silver metallic, with a streaked texture and the character names in shining gold. I still need the last one, which shows the fellow with paler green hair and the facial marking, Yasuaki, and I have many of the others to trade for it.
These cards are scanned for card collectors' reference and to help interest people in a story I like well enough I'm learning to read the manga. Therefore, please do _not_ take these images for other purposes, especially not for modification or web page use. If you must do so or die some horrible angst-filled death, please at least credit the artist, Touko Mizuno, and link back to this page so more people can find out about this excellent series.
