A B troop 2/17 Cav. LOH shot down in the Tennessee Valley, while inserting Ranger team Ethiopia on August 31, 1970. It was part of a 3 ship insertion and had the tail rotor shot off during the insertion.

These were taken on a mission when Orangutans attacked us with fruit from trees. It was a cold A.O. with lots of wild life. We saw a gorilla near the PZ, on the morning of extraction.
