My Dear Sister and Brother Choir Members, and
Visitors ,
Many of you have had the deep and Loving
experience of the Lord during the Festival of Blessings, and
I am sure that you enjoyed that experience. Was not our experience
at the Crusade similar to to the disciples on the Road to Emmaus,
and in their words later at supper, after Jesus blessed the bread
and gave it to them ... "
Did not our heart burn within while He talked
with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us
?" (Luke 24: 30-32) Some of
you have shared that Love and experience of Jesus with others,
and some of you are waiting to do so. Can you share the Love of
the Lord which you received at the Festival of Blessings with the
'
Challenged ' children of
"Morning Star" ? They too have been created
in God's own image and likeness, only they are different, and
perhaps closer to Him.
There are more than 55 boys from the
ages of 8 to 18 years who have not had that experience, mainly because
they have been neglected by society, thrown into dustbins, left on
the railway tracks to die. Yes, we have met them and feel empathy for
them, but haven't the resources to help them, but we have the effort
in asking you to do so through this webpage.
You could help with clothes
(only boys - shirts, pants, shorts, T-shirts)
, school books (text and exercise books), library
books and encyclopedias, children's videos and VCDs, DVDs,
CDs, shoes, games (intellectual, physical like cricket bats,
badminton rackets, toys and other house hold items, furniture,
study tables or school desks, gardening equipment, both
NEW or
GOOD CONDITION USED items. Food items
(purely vegetarian) like cooking oil, rice, flour, milk
power, etc. (no chilies or garlic please) even in the form of
Finances will be ideal, but
MAINLY you can give them your
LOVE,
the Love that you received
from the Lord by visiting them.
It is truly a Blessed Experienced meeting
these orphaned children, and I am sure that the Good Lord
will Bless you and your families, (and we invite you to
again read the Letter of St. James 1:27 regarding orphans
), with His bountiful Love, Grace and Blessings, the measure pressed
down and overflowing! You will never leave Morning Star the same,
doesn't it sound familiar!
You can contact the blessed people who
are running Morning Star,
JOHN KENNEDY and
JOY or
Daniel , who will guide you on your journey of
Love. You can visit the Morning Star webpage at

it's easier to phone than email them, because
it's a problem for them to get the Net through the exchange.
The Route is quite simple, from Campus
Crusade, go towards the Outer Ring Road (ORR), cross the ORR
and continue on the road that leads away from it, the distance
from the ORR to Morning Star is approximately 12 Kms. The road winds
and winds and passes the Hennur Police Station on your left, a quarry
on your right, further on the left you will find the Freedom Foundation,
an over head railway bridge, The Pentecostal Mission, (
watch out for speed breakers from here !)
St. Michael's High School, New Baldwin School is opposite, further
comes the Rabindranath Tagoore College of Nursing for Women, then
you will reach Kothanur Village, and on the bend you will come
across the Center for American Studies, keep to the left around it,
now you will see SABC on your left, still keep on this road, you will
see Pooraprajna Educational Center, then New Life Children's Home, and
after some distance, Carrs Farm is on the right, the road then takes
a few bends and a good straight road through a village and you will come
the
Final Landmark before you turn into
Morning Star is the
Sisters of Mary Immaculate Convent which
one finds on the right hand side of the road and opposite to
the stone wall of the
Naga Lingeshwara Temple (which you cannot see from the
road), keep on the main road for about 110 meters from the Convent,
you will see a stone marker on the left side of the road with the
legend Morning Star pointing to a mud road, follow it. If you do take
the off-the-road beaten track directly in front of the Convent you
will land in a piggery, like I did so myself!!.
Keep in mind that it takes approximately only
30 - 35 minutes from Campus Crusade if you travel @ around
40 - 45 kmph!
One word of warning , there seems to be an abundant
supply of giant '
speed breakers' sprung up over night,
along the way, there were not there earlier, so take care not
to go too fast!!
(Sorry, the Road Map is not drawn
to scale, only an approximate direction one should go is North of
Bangalore!! )
. There
are a few Bus Routes from City Market and one from Shivijinagar, but
not too frequent.
Some of our Choir Members from Glorious
have earlier prepared the attached brochure, to help John
and Joy to bring the children to the world and you.
Please click on the Thumbnails below to Read
this Brochure . We will be making a Webpage for
Morning Star which will contain lots of pictures on the location
where the children live, also it will have short stories on some
of the kids. This organization has survived for 17 years with the
help of the Lord and some good souls like you Saints. I had visited
Morning Star again on 24th May 2005 with my friend Lyn Fernandez and
took some more pictures, and each time I visit, I am really touched
by the love I get from the children itself. Please do give them your
love, and you will be Blessed a 100 fold in return.
My last visit was on Wednesday 8th June, 2005.
where I witnessed some of the children helping to plant some
coconut and arraknut trees. I also discovered that there is a stone
tank in which water is stored for the fields, the kids were having
a ball in this '10-star swimming pool', anyone has floats to give
them? Anyone has equipment that the challenged children could use for
massages? Need PUC Commerce Text books, yes, the children are also studying,
and trying to be independent and lead normal lives and perhaps get back
into the main-stream of life. Any good music, instrumental, Gospel, movies
that are meant for children would be welcome. Any old computers to donate
to them, that runs Windows
98, and 486 with CD-ROM also will do!! Some of the children are learning
computer programming, I understand that some software professionals
who have been touched by the children and Morning Star, once in a way spend
some of their time on weekends to teach 'java' programming!!
Any of you would like
to teach the children Music, Art, Reading, Singing
, etc.,?
The children have abundant hidden talents and needs to be tapped.
Someone from Chitrakala Parishath came and encouraged the children to
paint the wall, I spent some time again gazing at it in wonder and a
thought struck me, why not encourage these talented
artists to make some money for their upkeep?. One way is to
paint a 'Corporate' or 'Educational' location, perhaps a scene on a 'dining
or recreation' wall, or maybe a children's nursery room wall and I am sure
that there could be some one amoung you who has the contact to get them the
contract! But alas! first you need to see their work , then you will be
convinced of their capabilities. Anyone has 'recording' facilities, because
there are some good singers who could sing some tracks to help in their
maintenance, or sing on a joint-effort endeavour? There were more than
2000 of us together, and we felt that we were one family, surely there
must be someone who could reach out? Since I have put this up more than
a month ago (May 2005), not one call has been made to Morning Star to
see if they really exist!! And we call ourselves 'pilgrims' who went on a
'Crusade' to 'Praise and Give Glory to the Lord'! The tune is still ringing
in you head 'Nothing Is Impossible' , that is why I am approaching you
all to extend your love to these isolated children. I visited Morning Star
again on 12th JUne 2005 with Maisy and two other people who were having
some family problems, and both of them came away charged with a new life
experience that what they are going through was nothing compared to what
they witnessed, and they are coming again shortly to visit the children,
so you see you can get Blessings in different ways by visiting those whom
the world shuns!
If you do have some of these items and you cannot
go yourself to Morning Star, you
are most welcome to please drop them at our home and we will get
it across to the children for you . ( Our humble
address and abode is : 5/3, King Street, Richmond Town, Bangalore
560025 - the road is behind Brigade Towers , easier entrance
from Richmond Road as they have made the approach one-way and
you cannot take a right turn into Albert Street when coming up from
Brigade Road, but if you have landed in front of Brigade Towers, no
problem, take a right turn into Albert street at Girjas Showroom and
then a left into King Street, the house is located opposite
G MR
office, and next to or between
Needle Magic or/and Brigade
Manor . Presently there are no dogs, but four orphaned
kittens scampering about the compound which has lots of greenery.
You could please call before coming to make sure someone is at home.

Thank You,
God Bless you all,
