United States Benson-Livermore Class Destroyers

Benson-Livermore's in Action -- Battle's off Guadalcanal

The Battles in and around the Guadalcanal area were some of the fiercest fighting yet seen during World War II. The sacrifices to maintain and take control of this area of the Pacific will always be remembered; as well as the men and ships who fought and died here. The Benson-Livermore class destroyers were heavily involved in actions like Savo Island, Kolombangara, Battle of the Solomon Islands, etc. Names like Grayson, Buchanan, Gwin, and Woodworth will always be remembered and honored for the victory they helped create.
