This is a History /roster given out in December of 1945 aboard the USS Eberle DD430.
SHIP’S HISTORY KEEL LAID ON 12 APRIL 1939 BY BATH IRON WORKS LAUNCHED 14 SEPTEMBER 1940 COMMSSIONED 4 DECEMBER 1940 April 1941 – April 1945 :
Operated as a unit of United States Atlantic Fleet; convoy and patrol duty in North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Mediterranean, and North African waters. November 1942 - Participated in initial landings at French Morocco. March 1943-Intercepted German Blockade Runner. German crew scuttled ship. Eberle captured 72 prisoners. April 1944 -Successfully repelled a German Eboat attack on anchorage at Anzio, Italy. August 1944 - Participated in bombardment and initial landings on coast of Southern France. Captured 72 prisoners. April 1945- December 1945: Assigned and reported as a unit of United States Pacific Fleet, operating in Northern Pacific waters. AWARDS: American Defense Ribbon with an A American Theater of War Ribbon European African Middle Eastern Ribbon- three bronze stars Asiatic Pacific Ribbon Victory Medal No. 2
