Q. 25: 34 The kingdom on earth was prepared for Israel FROM the Foundation of the world.
R. 28: 19-20 The command to the disciple was to go to the nations and teach them and baptize them. (Which was for the remission of sins, as in Acts 2: 38.)

All of the seventeen accounts in Matthew constitute the message to preach, the way to conduct oneself and what was necessary for salvation during the dispensation of the Law:

  1. They were to NOT go to the Gentiles.
  2. They were to preach: Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins, knowing that the blotting out of sins would not occur until the Lords Second Coming. (Acts 2: 38; 3: 19-21.)
  3. They were to begin their ministry at Jerusalem, then go to Judea, them Samaria and then to all nations where Jews resided. but only after they had received the power to go. (Acts 1:6-8)
  4. This baptism was WITH the Spirit. It was a baptism of empowerment. They had already received the Spirit in John 20: 22.

Many fundamental believers regard Pentecost as the beginning of the Church the Body of Christ. We will give sufficient Scripture in lessons to follow that will afford you the opportunity to make your own determination in that regard.

If you read Acts 2 and 3 you will find Peter delivering a mighty message:
  1. He was upset over the fact that Jews had killed the long awaited Messiah, and told those gather there that fact.
  2. He preached to Jews from many different nations, all of whom had gathered there to observe one of the seven Jewish Feast Days.
  3. When some said the people were drunk, Peter said they were not drunk. "As a matter of fact," he said, they are doing exactly what the Prophet Joel foretold would happen.
  4. When he finished his address, many believed and were instructed to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.
  5. Peter and John went to the Temple to pray and encounter a man who had been lame all his life. Endowed with the power they had been promised, they healed the man, evidence of Divine intervention.
  6. The disciples filled with the Spirit and endued with the power began to do what they were called to do, preach the gospel of the kingdom is at hand. Many were saved as a result of their willingness to follow the Lord's instruction.
  7. People sold all their land and goods and gave them to the apostles. Why? Because the kingdom of heaven was about to be ushered in and they would have no need of those things there.
  8. But the kingdom's arrival was thwarted when Ananias and Sapphira kept some of the money for the land they sold. This showed a lack of faith and the kingdom inheritance was put on hold from that day forward.
  9. As you read the Book of Acts you will see that the Jews begin to loose favor in the eyes of God. Peter, who was the leader of the movement, gives way to James, the brother of Jesus.
  10. Paul is raised up to become the newfound leader of the Christian movement.
  11. The Jews become Lo-ammi in the final chapter of Acts.
