God's Time Chart
From the beginning, God had a plan for mankind. The chart on the following page is my interpretation, graphically, of that plan. The unfolding of that plan was designed and orchestrated by God, but it is the responsibility of all Christians to study and know it. Our ultimate goal should be to learn more about God. It is my hope that this book, From the Beginning to the Beginning, and this chart, will help you in your pursuit to reach that goal.
Even though the whole Bible is for us, all of it is not to those of us living in this present Dispensation of Grace. The Bible must be "Rightly Divided" if you are going to understand it completely and fully. (2 Timothy 2: 15)
Let us begin to understand the chart.
In the Old Testament:
- God established a perfect place for Adam and gave him dominion. (Genesis 1: 26-28)
- But sin entered in and God pronounced a curse on mankind. (Gen. 3:14-19)
- Later, God told Abraham he would be a blessing and would make of him a great nation, (Gen. 12:1-3) and entered into an everlasting Covenant to be his God. (Gen. 17:6-8)
- God promised that Jesus would come as a king (Isa. 9:6, 7; Dan. 7:9-14; Zech. 14:9) and would reign in Jerusalem (Isa. 2:1-5; Ezek. 11:14-21).
- Israel, as a nation, rejected Jesus as the Messiah, so God foretells of her destruction and dispersion. (Isa. 6:9-12)
- the four Gospels:
- We are told of the earthly ministry of Christ, His birth (Luke 1:31-33)
- His Message (Matt. 4:17)
- His instructions to the twelve disciples (John 18:36, 37)
- His betrayal by Judas (Luke 22:3-6)
- His resurrection (Luke 24:1-6)
The Son of God came to Earth but the world did not know Him as such. (John 1:10) His own people, the Jews, did not accept him (John 1:11), they rejected Him.
The Acts period has often been referred to as the book between. It is in this book that the fall of Isreal is chronicled.
- The message of the kingdom is presented by Peter. (Acts 2:29-38)
- Some believed it and some did not. (Acts 28:24)
- Since the Jewish nation as a whole did not believe Messiah had come to establish His kingdom, God blinded the Jew. (Acts 28:25-28)
The Pauline Epistles .(Romans-Philemon) reveal the special ministry of Paul:
- The revelation of the Mystery: hid in Scripture (Rom. 16:25,26; and hid in God (Eph. 3:1-5; Col. 1: 25-27)
- The Dispensation Of Grace: (Eph. 3:2)
- The mystery of the Church the Body of Christ (Rom, 12:5; 1 Cor. 10:17; 12:27; Eph. 1:22,23; 2:14-15; 3:6; 4:4; Col. 1:18; 3:25)
- The Gospel of the Grace of God: (Rom. 3:24; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:7)
This gospel is about:
- The preaching of the cross as salvation for mankind. (1 Cor. 1:17,18; Gal. 6:14; Col. 1:20)
- Forgiveness of sin by the blood of Christ (Rom. 3:25; 5:9; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14)
- One baptism (Eph. 4:5)
- And a greater commission than that given to the twelve disciples (2 Cor. 5:14-20)
- A heavenly kingdom in deference to an earthly kingdom (Eph. 1:3; 2:6; Phil. 3:20; Col. 3:1-3)
The prophesied message of an earthly kingdom is in abeyance until the rapture of the Church the Body of Christ. (1 Cor. 15;51,52; Phil. 3:20, 21; Col. 3:4; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)
The Book of Revelation will present the King in His perfection, and He will defeat the Devil and establish the long awaited Kingdom on earth, which will be the new heaven and new earth.
This Time Chart is intended to be used as an aide to study. We suggest that you take it out of the book and photo copy it. It would be helpful if you would keep one copy in your Bible at all times and refer to it as you read and study. " Time Past" is all about Israel; "But Now" is all about Gentiles in the Dispensation of Grace, and "Restitution & Refreshing" is the promise to restore Isreal coming to fruition.
It is my hope that this book and chart will be instrumental in leading you into a deeper relationship with God.
