Imane-oor The MoonRunner

Regimental Goddess

Imane-oor is the hero of the Wylan-oor clan who fought at the battle of Mirin’s Cross and carried the tales of victory to Jillaro in a single night. Given the honorific MoonRunner she is the regimental standard of the MoonRunner Peltasts, formed in 6/32. Her followers are the members of this light infantry regiment, elements of which have served throughout the Empire and provinces.

Worshipers: Current and past members of the regiment, often originating from the Darjiin sultanate. The cult celebrates its seasonal holy days on the Full Moon of Illusion week, with the high holy day occurring in Fire season to commemorate the victory at Mirin’s Cross and the MoonRunner’s famous deed. Retired members of the regiment often establish a household shrine to the MoonRunner and celebrate the holy days with serving members of the regiment where possible.

Requirements: Be a physically fit free Lunar citizen or citizen foreigner and swear an oath of loyalty to the regiment and the Emperor. Due to its Darjiin origins the regiment has never admitted an Alkothi.

Skills: Awareness, Battle, First Aid, Javelin, Scimitar, Read New Pelorian, Religion (MoonRunner), Ritual.

Duties: Armed service to the Empire.

Virtues: Lustful, Energetic, Prudent, Indulgent, Valorous.

Cult Magic: Detect Enemies, Disrupt, Heal, Mobility, Moon Sight, Parry, Repair, Shimmer, Speedart.

Quindecurion (acolyte): Must have served as a septurion for at least one year and be of proven loyalty and ability. 18 in Javelin, 15 in Scimitar, 10 in Awareness, Battle, Read New Pelorian, 7 in Religion (MoonRunner), Ritual.

Divine Magic: Heal Wound, Sanctify, Spell Teaching, Warding, Worship MoonRunner, Moon Running.

Captain (priest): Must have served as a quindecurion with distinction. 18 in Javelin, Scimitar, 15 in Battle, 10 in Religion (MoonRunner), Ritual.
Divine Magic: As quindecurion plus Divination, Excommunication, Initiation, Shield.

Senior Captain (high priest): Must have served as a captain for seven years. 18 in Javelin, Scimitar, Battle, Religion (MoonRunner), Ritual.

Associated Cults: Whilst no divine spells are received from other Lunar deities peltasts are able to purchase castings of such spells from the Red Army’s magicians or Lunar temples at discounted rates.

Miscellaneous Notes: As Imane-oor is housed in the regimental standard carried by the senior captain members of the regiment are unable to call upon Divine Intervention in the normal manner, although the senior captain does have the benefit of direct communication with the goddess.

The cult does not have a spirit of reprisal as discipline is maintained by the septurions and quindecurions or, at need, by the army’s Danfive Xaron Overseers. Those who greatly dishonour the regiment are excommunicated and crucified.

Septurion

A septurion is an initiate who is in charge of a squad of seven peltasts (including himself) with all peltasts being initiates. The rank is purely secular and has no set requirments, merely being thought of as capable by the relevent quindecurion is sufficient. It is roughly equivalent to a lance corporal in the infantry.

 MoonRunner Peltast Previous Experience

The following sections facilitate the generation of experienced members of the MoonRunner regiment. Peltasts generated as having mustered out after completing a seven year term of service make good player characters for moderate level campaigns.

PenDragon Pass

Most of the character generation procedure is in accordance with the standard PenDragon Pass system detailed in Enclosure #1. Most peltasts are from the Darjiin sultanate, and thus have a Pelorian cultural background.

Family Background

A peltast with a family background in the regiment will have the following modifiers to skills, traits and passions.
+3 javelin, +2 scimitar, +2 battle, +1 awareness, Valorous +d3, Loyalty (regiment) 3d6+3.
