Dorothy K. (Dottie) Chilcott Mock
August 15, 1941 - September 3, 2002 

     Dorothy drifted off to sleep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept.3. She wanted us to express to you her sincere appreciation for your continued love and support through her difficult journey.
     Her funeral will be Sat. at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Dorothy requested memorial donations to the Independence Public Library (the Dorothy Mock Memorial Fund) in lieu of flowers.

   Dottie and her family lived in Independence, Kansas; and to the end, she remained a private person, requesting that news of her continuing struggle with cancer not be placed on the class web page. Dorothy wrote 10 published books and over 200 published articles (the first published when she was a mere sixteen years old,) short stories, poems, etc, on a variety of subjects for all age groups. She and her husband raised five children.

     INDEPENDENCE, Kan. -- Services for former Logansport resident, Dorothy K. Mock, 61, of Independence, Kan., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, Independence, Kan.
     She died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at her residence.
     The Revs. Jack and Marilyn Gregory will officiate at the services. A private family burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
     Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today in Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Independence Public Library.
