Services for George H. Haynes,
65, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 25,
2006, in Marocco Funeral Chapel.
He died at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday,
November 21, 2006, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1941, in Logansport,
he was the son of Jonathan and Violet Fulton Haynes.
He was a skilled laborer at Wilson
Foods in Logansport for 25 years, working there from the time
the business opened until it closed. After that, he worked
as a security guard at Grissom Air Reserve Base until he retired.
He was a member of the Logansport
Eagles Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 and American
Legion Post 60. He enjoyed going to the senior citizens center
for breakfast and lunch, and he also enjoyed going to the riverboat
casinos.
His favorite times, though, were
spent with his grandchildren, Jonathan George and Miranda. He
also enjoyed fishing.
He graduated from Logansport HIgh
School in 1959.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law,
Paula and Brian Townsend, Logansport; a son, Vincent Haynes,
McGregor, Iowa; a sister, Virginia DeHaven, Walton; a grandson,
Jonathan George Scot Townsend, Logansport; and a granddaughter,
Miranda Shea Lyn Townsend, Logansport.
In addition to his parents, two
brothers, Ed and Bill, and three sisters, Beatrice, Maxine and
Jacqulyn Jackie preceded him in death.
Pastor Paul Plavnick of New Beginnings
Church will officiate at the services. Burial with military honors
will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
