The LHS Class of ’59 was blessed with an unusually large number of gifted musicians.  One of the finest of this elite group was Frank Parente.

He found sweet sounds on just about any kind of saxophone and clarinet.
We were fortunate to hear his work not only in the LHS Band, Swing Band, Orchestra, Winter Fantasy & Key Klub Kapers, but with many of the better area dance bands – including his own.  As classmates may recall, Frank also participated in Hi-Y, Latin Club, Student Council, Senior Board, Music Club and played on the golf team.  But music was his forte.  Perhaps it was the song in his heart that enabled him to lift everyone’s spirits with his hearty ‘Hello’, his shining smile, and the twinkle in his eyes.

Frankie was Music Director and a Teacher at Fremont High School in Fremont, Indiana, and passed away on May 11, 1991.
