The Webmaster: Jhoan T. Bongalbal![]() I am a senior journalism student of the College of Mass Communication (CMC) at the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman Quezon City. ![]() I wrote my undergraduate thesis Digging the Underground: A Historical Study of Metro Manila Zines From 1987 to 2004 last year together with my thesis partner and best buddy Virg. Currently, I am in the process of creating my personal handcoded website, which is apparently inspired by my handcoding experience in Journ 117, that I intend to upload very soon. College life had never been easy. but with determination and God's grace, I am finally leaving the university as an expectant centennial graduate. I know I still have a lot of rice to eat, but rest assured that I will carry the principles I've learned from this university as I enter the new chapter of my life and start living out my dream. Between the LinesJournalism, aside from being a craft and a profession, is a dsicipline and a responsibility. So as web authoring. Between the Lines is a conscious effort to follow the ethics of web authoring. One mentor of mine mentioned during class discussion that there is no such thing as absolute objectivity. However, there is such a thing as integrity that will keep you on the right track when anything goes wrong. Why Between the Lines? There are things that canot be said as much as we want to say them, and there are things we need to know even if they cannot be told. Our five senses keep us going; but to survive, we have to read between the lines. The Website This site was created in partial fulfillment of the course requirements in Journalism 117 (Online Journalism). It contains articles (such as Perspective, the webmaster's column) about some important happenings during the semester. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Arao for his passion to inspire students to become better individuals and professionals. |
