Concerning your genealogy--The following descendent has recently died. Lelia Perdue Scott, husband, John Daniel. She was the daughter of Elmer Lawrie, s/Giles H., s/John Otis Perdue listed in your pages.
Lelia's obituary appeared in the Roanoke Times and World News this week. This is pertinent info from it: Scott, Lelia Perdue ("Granny"), 100, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on July 12, 1999. She was preceded in death by husband, John Daniel Scott.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Charles and Virginia Scott, Robert and Barbara Scott; grandchildren and spouses, Johnny and Pam Scott, Mark Scott, Bonnie and Roger Smith, Kathie and Charles Davenport, Robert Kellam, Becky and Leon Sill, Tamm
Athern.

One of their sons was Alanzo or (Alonzo) Royer. He married Viola Irene Hinkley.
They had several children, one of whom was:

They did not have any children,however, Della had one daughter from a previous marriage to Henry Furtaw by the name of Rose.
Rose and John O. Royer had a daughter (they were not married)by the name of June Rose Royer which Della and John raised as their own daughter.

Like others have said, what a wonderful site.
My mother was adopted by Fredrick Tobey and Clara Tobey at Battle Creek, MI, in 1918. Fredrick had three brothers that I know of, George, Frank and Raymond. I used to spend the summers with Frank at his farm near Vicksburg in Kalamazoo County, MI.
Fred Tobey was born 20 July, 1887, in Charleston Twsp., Kalamazoo County, MI. The parents of these four brothers are George C. Tobey and Anna Gravatt. I have not taken this family back beyond this point. I believe there must be a link to your Tobey's.

My line comes from a completely different side. I would have thought it has nothing to do with the Bournes in these pages if it wasn't for the fact that my father's maternal surname was Rogers. He was born in the Island of Barbados early in the twentieth
entury. Maybe about 1910 - 1912. He was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters. The story we were told is that their ancestors had been deported from England to Barbados during the troubles between Cromwell and the king.
My father died when I was very young, and I have never been to the island. My sister visited and found some family members, mostly the older folks as the young ones had gone mostly to Canada (some to the USA) in search of more exciting experiences. My sis
er visited the tomb of our greatgrandfather in a church (I assume Anglican) in Barbados. I would like to learn more about this branch of my family.
