Super Jon Newby
Not wishing to make any inappropriate biblical comparisons or anything, but since February Jon Newby has been turning the shitty Gigg Lane water into a fine wine, fit for the table of kings.

Super Jon joined the mighty Shakers from Liverpool in February 2001. His presence caused a sudden surge of self-belief amongst his new team-mates, and of course, he popped up with a few goals too. It could be quite sensibly argued that without Jon Newby, Bury FC would have been preparing for season 2001/02 in division three.

He's about twenty three years old, six feet tall, and from St Helens. He's not, to be truthfull, especially pretty. He is, however, something of an object of the affections of Bury fans like me. Basically, he's a bloody hero.

Never before in the history of Bury FC (well in the last twelve years since i've been watching them) has there been anyone who has given us so much hope and reason for optimism. (Except maybe Super Adekola, Super David Lee, Super Dean Keily, Super Chris Lucketti or Super David 'cheating little shithead' Johnson).

I'm not overdoing it am I? I just happen to like the guy.
Merci beau coup M. Houllier
