John McGinlay
If you had asked me on the evening of March 21st 1991 who my favourite footballer in the world was, i would have said this man, John McGinlay. He had just 'bagged a trick' against the scum from Burndown Park and we had won 3-1 on a fantastic evening as we were on our way to the second division playoffs where we would
eventually lose to the team we had just hammered. At this point we liked him.

After being sold by Bury he joined Millwall and we still liked him, then he went and spoilt it all by signing for Bolton. Unfortunately, he scored a lot of goals and played a large part in the trolley boys' rise up the football league.

One one occasion he nearly killed our goalkeeper and his own former team-mate, Gary Kelly, in a league cup game. Then he scored a decisive goal and also the decisive penalty when they won at Gigg in the second leg. He began to epitomise everything which was bad about Bolton, Kissing the badge when he scored and that sort of thing

I have a good friend who works for Tower FM. He does the commentary for Bury and also for Bolton, he has commentated at the Breezeblock with McGinlay as a co-commentator. Matty assures me that John is a thouroughly nice bloke but I refuse to believe him.

HE'S A BASTARD.
