Week 11 Scores
Yukon Jacks 139
Gizzards 106
On the arm of the 750 TP player, The Yukon Jacks surge
to another win with the effort of Trent Green's 5 TDs
and 62 BFL points. The Jacks also got good support from
Charlie Garner's 22 and didn't need much more. The
Gizzards had 3 players in the 20s in BFL scoring, the
usual suspects, Jake Plummer, Edgerrin James, and Joe
Horn, but not enuf to overcome a STRONG performance by
Trent Green. The Jacks move to 4-7 and Gizzards go under
.500 to 5-6. Could The Jacks be making a playoff run?
Pipsqueaks 100
Mustangs 81
With Brett Farve knocked out of the game (he only scored
11 points), the Mustangs had a golden opportunity to
defeat the Pipsqueaks, but could not get enough scoring
out of their receivers. The Pipsqueaks were lead by
Robert Smith's 28 points, and 26 from the Dolphin DS. The
Mustangs Doug Flutie scored 24, and Curtis Martin chipped
in 19, but there was just not enough other scoring to
overcome the difference. The Pipsqueaks improve to 7-4
and the Mustangs slip to 3-8.
Butchers 103
Highlanders 86
In a major upset, the Butchers slice up the Highlanders by
17. The division leading Highlanders got 0 points from
Amani Toomer and Terrel Owens, two guys that did major
damage to The Manglers last week. The Butchers high
scorer was Brian Griese with 31, who despite playing with
obvious pain, pushed the Butchers into the lead in last
nite's game. The Butchers also got 21 from the St. Louis
DS and 16 apiece from Ryan Longwell and Tiki Barber. The
Highlanders were lead by Vinny Testaverde's 33 points, and
Jamal Lewis added 16. The Butchers improve their playoff
chances by moving to 5-6 while the Highlanders maintain
their division lead by only one game now, at 8-3, without
the services of Kurt Warner.
Mules 182
Meeks 95
And in another eye-opening upset, the Mules go 'hog wild'
and kick the Meeks by 87 points! The 95 points by the Meeks
(Marshall Faulk still nursing injury) is his lowest point
total in quite some time. The Mules on the other hand, had
one of their best days of the year, getting 45 from Rich
Gannon, and a big day from Ike Hillard (35) and Keenan
McCardell (34). The Meeks got 26 from Payton Manning and
another good day from Lamar Smith (20), but the other main
point makers were off their game this week. Could this be
the late season surge we are used to from the Mules the last
2 years, and then going on to win the Electron Bowl? The
Mules move to 3-8 and the Meeks still remain firmly in
control in the Landry Division at 8-3.
Outlanders 141
Looney 123
This was a good game, but Dante Culpepper with 4 TDs
and 57 points for the Outlanders, made the difference.
The Outlanders also got 22 from Jerome Bettis, 19 from
Isaac Bruce, and Martin Grammatica kicked 2 +50 yd FGs
The Looney countered with 37 from Steve Beurline and a
big day for James McKnight with 28, and the Titans DS
added 20 points. The Outlanders were able to hold Emmitt
Smith for the Looney to 0 points. The Outlanders move up
to tie the other two teams with the best record in the
league at 8-3, and the Looney slip to 4-7, still with a
chance at a playoff spot very much alive.
Dawgs 124
Manglers 123
And this game sucked!! *laughs* The Dawg's Tim Brown
comes up big on a 22 yard TD reception last nite with
1:22 left in the game to beat the Manglers by one point!
The Mangler's Denver DS put the scare into them before
that, finally finishing with 28 points. The Dawgs were
lead by Donovan McNabb with 34 points, then solid scoring
from Tim Brown (22), and the usual Cris Carter (19) and
Randy Moss (19) tandem. The Manglers got 41 from Jeff
Garcia and another 19 from Jamal Anderson, but managed
to put Tyrone Wheatley in their lineup, who was inactive
last nite. That had to hurt :) The Dawgs move to a
respectable 5-6 and improve their playoff chances, while
The Manglers fall to 6-5, GREATLY dimming any hope of
them winnng the Halas Division.
WEEK 11 MVP: obviously Trent Green, but Dante Culpepper
and the whole Mules team deserve mention.
