The Highlanders extended their record to 2-0 with their 27-point win over
the Pips. Kurt Warner led all scorers with 43 points for the Highlanders.
Mike Hollis' boot picked up another 32, and the Baltimore defense scored
28. The Pipsqueaks were led by Brett Favre with 37 points. The Miami
defense also had 26 for them. The Highlanders are scrambling to find a
replacement for Michael Westbrook after he blew out his knee. The Pips
fall to 1-1.
American Looney 151
Mustangs 82
The Loons blew out the Nags by 69. Jimmy Smith of the Loons led all
scorers with an astounding 72 points off 291 yards receiving and 3 long
TD's. Drew Bledsoe had 27 and Wayne Chrebet had 23 in last night's game
for the Loons as well. The Mustangs were led by Steve Beuerlein with 53
points. The Loons and Mustangs now have 1-1 records.
Butchers 106
Mark's Mules 83
The Mules had a chance to win this one with the correct choice in QB, but
they chose poorly. Brian Griese of the Butchers led all scorers with 43
points. St. Louis' defense had 26 points, and Tiki Barber had 22 to help
them along. The Mules were led by Donald Hayes with 22 points. The
Butchers climb to 1-1, while the Mules remain winless.
Missouri Manglers 130
Outlanders 127
In the thriller of the week, the Manglers edged the Outlanders by 3
points. The Jets' defense needed a couple more sacks of Drew Bledsoe to
win, but fell just short. The Manglers were led by Brad Johnson with 32
points. Their supporting cast had Rod Smith (29), the Denver defense
(27), and Antonio Freeman (23). Daunte Culpepper of the Outlanders led
all scorers with 43 points, and his teammate Rickey Watters had 23. The
Manglers go to 2-0, while the Outlanders slip to 1-1.
Meek Boys 178
Bemay Gizzards 135
The Gizzards are scoring tons of points, but can't get a win. Peyton
Manning had 55 for the Meeks. The Tampa Bay defense had 45 points,
including a shutout of the Bears. Marvin Harrison caught 28 points from
Manning, and Marshall Faulk had another 28 points for the Meeks. Jake
Plummer had 34 and led the Gizzards. Edgerrin James, the third leg of the
Colts' triad, helped Bob out with another 26 points. The Meeks are a
perfect 2-0, and the Gizzards are a perfect 0-2.
Dawgs 126
Yukon Jacks 102
The Dawgs win the battle of the winless wonders in the Lombardi Division
by 24. Donovan McNabb led the Dawgs with 36 points. Rob Johnson led all
scorers with 43 for the Jacks. The Dawgs are 1-1, while the Jacks remain
winless. They've also got to find a replacement for Jason Elam who
cracked a couple of vertebrae.
