Week 11 Scores

There certainly are some interesting BFL matchups in week 12
as we go back into division play. But, more about that later,
let's get to the week 11 scores:

Pipsqueaks 110
Outlanders 99

The Pipsqueaks get back to their winning way, knocking off
the Halas Division winner this week. Duece got a great deal,
scoring 38 big BFL points on 173 rushing, TDs of 5,7, 64
recv, Collins threw for 31, Holt was back in form and caught
19, Longwell booted in 12, but the Chiefs DS only scored 4,
and he had 2 zeroes on his scorecard, but the Pigskins score
more than their opponent, and that is what is important. The
Outlander's Alexander had another fine day for Seattle,
scoring 22, James Jackson ran in another 17, still, 3
receivers only combined for 15, Mare kicked in 14, the Titans
DS 12, and QB Brad Johnson, only came up with 19 this week,
as the Big Johnson got a little deflated. I call that the
Mangler Motif this year (or any BFL year, really :)...in this
league, if your quarterback only scores 20 points, your in
dire straits. The Pipsqueaks go to 7-4, and clinch a playoff
spot, The Outlanders lose Keyshawn Johnson for the rest of
the season, and are now 8-3.

Ferrets 110
Manglers 98

The Ferrets also get back on the winning track, beating the
Manglers by almost an identical score. Ferrets got 41 from
the arm of Trent Green, the Dolphins DS 21, newly acquired
Warren Dunn ran in 18 (well done, Randy!) and everybody else
scored. While watching the highlights of Peter Warrick almost
single handedly, beating the Kansas City Chiefs, I thought
the Manglers had this one, he ended up with 28, but the
Bengals DS only got 1 sack to go with that 64 yd punt return
TD, for 12, and QB Chandler could only toss in another 20.
Repeat: your QB scores 20 points or less, your probably going
to lose in the BFL. The Ferrets also go to 7-4 in the Lombardi
Division, and clinch a playoff spot, the Manglers are 3-8.

Meeks 119
Mules 108

In a great QB matchup, each teams QB playing against the
other team in real NFL (Indy vs Jets), the Meeks beat The
Mules by 11. Meeks' running backs making the difference.
The Meeks' Manning threw for 401 yards, and a 46 yard TD
for 49 points, Reggie Wayne catching 141 yards of that for
15, and running backs Thomas (16), Faulk (12), and Portis
(12) add the winning touch. The Mules, not to be, (or not
to be, that is the question?) Chad Pennington rallies the
Jets but comes up short, throwing for 219 yards (and he
only threw 14 times, completing 11, mind boggling, did the
Colts have the ball all game long?), TDs of 62,28,48 for
48 BFL points, Andre Johnson hauled in 25 more with a 46 yd
TD and 122 recv (he also had 1 rush for -34 yards, not sure
how that happened! :), Shipp went out hurt after scoring
only 3, and the Detroit DS came up with zero, that had to
hurt. The Meeks haven't put the spin cycle on the Landry
Divison yet, at 8-2-1, but they are damn close, and The
Mules are 3-8.

Mustangs 114
Dawgs 85

The Mustangs get a big win this week, against the Lombardi
Divison leading Dawgs. Maddox shows up on Monday nite, with
39 BFL points, 327 yds passing and a 39 yd TD, Ahman
"Workhorse" Green rides in 19, as does Santana "Guitar"
Moss with another 19, and The Eagles are starting to show
their wings, as The Mustangs get 20 combined from Akers
kicking and the Philadelphia DS. The Dawgs got a good day
from Hasselbeck with 34, running backs combined for 27,
Anderson kicked in 12, as did the Rams DS with another 12,
but got zero from the receiver positions, that had to hurt.
The Mustangs buck and bronco to 5-6, and the Dawgs are now
8-3 in the Lombardi.

Highlanders 163
Looney 31

Highlanders go high scorer in the BFL this week, putting
up 163, almost 5 times the Looney total. Highlanders had
great scoring, down the lineup, Kitna passing for 35,
Terrell Owens had 155 recv and a 61 yd TD on Monday nite
for 34, Seattle DS scored 22, Stephen Davis and Tiki Barber
both put up 19 apiece, the only player who wasn't in double
figures was Chambers, with 3. The Looney got 105 rushing
from Ricky "The Other" Williams (see how I worked that so I
didn't use it for Santana this week? :) for 12 points, Carr
went out early only scoring 1, Dallas got shutout, so not
much to cheer about in Looney land. The Highlanders are the
last place team in the Lombardi still, now at 6-5 (ouch)
(but I'm pretty sure they have clinched a playoff spot, by
winning over the teams behind them) and The Looney are 1-8-1.

Gizzards 157
Butchers 103

The Gizzards get a needed win, heading into late season
divison play in the Landry. Culpepper just puts up huge
numbers again, he is headed for the Hall of Fame, but like
Dan Marino, he may never win a Super Bowl, get a defense,
Minnesota! (and apparently he is more resilient than Michael
Vick), as he throws for 396 yards, a 29 yd TD, and runs for
42 more, a 11 yd TD, that is 57 BFL points, obviously the
other 7 roster positions scored 100, Barlow ran in a 78 yard
TD for 25, E. James had a great day running against the Jets,
127 rush, 3 TDs of 1,4,1 yds (and 33 recv, of Peyton's 401
yards passing! geez, that is a lot of offense by Indy) for
39 BFL points, everbody else scored but Stallworth. The
Butchers' Brooks threw in 25, Wilkins kicked in another 18,
Gonzalez pulled in 16, Moe "Points" Williams had 12, Hearst
ran a lot (20 rushes for 67 yards), but just didn't get the
scoring (6), and everybody on the roster did score, but just
not enough to stop the Culpepper seasoning. The Gizzards are
6-5 (and again, I'm pretty sure they have clinched a playoff
spot, by victory over the teams behind them), The Butchers
go to 3-8.

Week 11 MVPs: Culpepper, McAllister

Terrific stuff coming up in BFL 2003 in the next few weeks,
it's divison play. The game this week is Dawgs .vs. Ferrets,
for the Lombardi Division lead, and not to far behind, as
Highlanders and Pipsqueaks battle it out to see who will
step up next for the challenge. Meek Boys have a couple of
tough weeks to look at, as division rivals try to get to
the top of the Landry Division, and teams on a hot streak,
in that division. You've shown you have the best players,
but playing the wrong player(s), or an injury to a key
player at this point in the season, could be crucial, to
winning the division.
