Week 2 Scores
How many are you willing to admit you turned the Giants\Cowboys
Monday night game off with 11 seconds to go after the Giants
kicked that fieldgoal? I certainly did, after watching it until
12:35 am EST!! Argh! Football is a strange game sometimes. It
was fun watching Tampa Bay lose this week, though, I hope
everybody got to see the end of that, it was a head shaker.
And cheers, to Jamal Lewis, for his 295 yard new, single game
rushing record, hard to believe somebody can do that in the NFL.
It isn't like the ball is juiced up, like baseball, I'll bet he
was tired after that game.
BFL week 2 results:
Dawgs 181
Highlanders 112
No better place to start. The Dawgs Jamal Lewis scores 65 BFL
points on a record breaking day, add Ricky Williams 25, and
Travis Henry's 24, that is 114 points, enough to win the game.
Those are running backs that touch the ball a lot. McNabb added
24, and Jason Elam kicked for 21. The Highlanders got a much
better game out of Tom Brady than the previous week for 42,
Stephen Davis ran for 15 points in a great game against Tampa
Bay, and Vanderjagt booted in 24, but nowhere near enough. The
Dawgs go to 2-0, The Highlanders are now 1-1.
Ferrets 149
Pipsqueaks 143
A real barn burner! Great consistent scoring all down both
rosters, but the Pipsqueaks needed a few more points, while
the Ferrets chewed his nails on Monday night (Galloway only
scored 3). The Ferrets got a huge day from Darrell Jackson
with 47 points, on 55 and 66 yard TD receptions, the Ravens
DS scored 26, Gardner added 26, and surprisingly, Trent Green
only had 17. The Pipsqueaks replied with 46 big BFL points
from the Kansas City DS, Toomer had 22, the Duece played his
cards for 19 and Favre passed for 23. The Ferrets get their
first BFL win (and I'm sure not their last) to go to 1-1, and
the Pipsqueaks go to 0-2.
Manglers 116
Outlanders 109
The second barn burner, The Manglers escape with a win after
Keyshawn drops a 22 yard pass in the endzone for a TD at the
end of the Carolina/Tampa Bay game, I watched it, unbelievable,
right in his hands. The Manglers got 3 TDs and 36 points from
Priest Holmes, 32 from Garcia, and consistent scoring from
Conway, Betts, and the Detroit DS. The Outlanders Aaron Brooks
had 30, the Packer DS ate the Lions for 22, and Chad Johnson
pulled in 15, but they needed one more big play. The Manglers
are now 2-0, and The Outlanders are 1-1.
Butchers 129
Mules 61
The Butchers more than double The Mules score, with Fielder
tossing for 34, Moe Williams grinding it for 25, Hines Ward
catching 15, and the 49ers DS found gold for 30. The Mules
were strapped by Rich Gannon only scoring 10 points, on 103
yards passing, about 200 yards below his average per game last
season. They did get 22 from the Falcons DS, and Longwell
kicked in 14, but not enough to make up the difference. The
Butchers record is 1-1, and The Mules go to 0-2.
Meeks 121
Gizzards 100
The Meeks had the best looking scoring card in the league for
consistency this week, with one exception. Always fun to look
at scoring like that. Eric Moulds got back in the mold with 25,
Manning threw for 24, Harrison 16, Portis 15, etc., etc, all
players were in double digits except Marty Booker, who scored
zero. The Gizzards got 31 from Culppper, 19 from E. James
running, Dillion had 16 as his NFL single game rushing record
was broke, and Stallworth pulled in 17, but not enough to beat
The Meek. The Meek are now 1-0-1, and the Gizzards are 1-1.
Mustangs 153
Looney 109
The Mustangs get their first win of the season, with Tommy
Maddox tossing for 40 and Burress on the receiving end of
that for 22 (is anybody seeing a Meeks pattern? That is good
BFL strategy). Ahman Green ran in a 65 yard TD on the way to
34 points for the Mustangs, and the new superstar WR of the
NFL, whose first name is too damn hard to spell, L. Coles
pulled in 28. The Looney got a big day from Drew Bledsoe with
49 points (highest scoring QB playing in the league this week),
but could only manage 18 from the foot of Janikowski, and 12
from Tomlinson, 11 from the Vikings DS, and not enough from
the rest of the squad. The Mustangs move to 1-1, and the Looney
are at 0-1-1.
