Week 6 Scores

Another fun week BFL 2003 in week 6, three games decided by
5 points, and two of those games were decided on Monday night,
let us get to it:

Butchers 113
Meeks 108

The Butchers get scoring from every player on their roster
this week, Brooks tossed 2 TDs for 25, Gonzalez kept the
Chiefs unbeaten pulling in 22, Anderson kicked in 16, Hearst
and the San Fran DS each scored 13. And also important, TJ
Duckett got 6 points on Monday night for the win. The Meeks
got 36 from Peyton, another big game from the Bucs DS, with
2 int (1 for TD), 1 fumble, and 6 sacks for 32, 13 from the
leg of Josh Brown, 12 from Harrison, but an unusual 2 zeroes
on the starting roster. Newly acquired Marc Bulger was on The
Meeks bench, he scored 54. The Butchers get a leg (of lamb?)
up to 2-4, and The Meeks are now 4-1-1, still atop the Landry
Division.

Pipsqueaks 126
Manglers 121

(side note: Who made this schedule? I'm beginning to feel
like The Outlanders from last year! *smiles*)

The Pipsqueaks Torry Holt blazes the way to high scorer in
the game on Monday night, with 35 BFL points on 161 yards
receiving, and TDs of 21 and 14. Collins threw up another
31, the Chiefs DS beat Green Bay with 21, and Duece and John
Hall both scored 12 apiece. The Manglers got 34 from the
Ravens DS, on 3 int (1 TD), a blocked FG (for a TD), and 2
sacks, Garcia scored 22 (but couldn't throw a TD pass),
Holmes scored 22, Rod Smith, coming on, got 16, Gordon or
Betts couldn't find the endzone, and not enough to hold off
the Pigskin's in this squeaker! The Pipsqueaks and Manglers
are both now at 3-3.

Dawgs 95
Looney 90

The Dawgs get back on the winning dawg track after last week,
with a close, gritty win this week, solid scoring down the
roster. All positions scoring, Hasseleck tossed for 25,
Williams scored 16, Lewis 15, Horn scoring a TD for 10, and
Elam kicking in 10 more. The Looney's Duce Staley finally
showed up, scoring 25, Bledsoe threw for 20 (like many
starting QBs this week, no TDs, though), Cundiff booted 17,
the Colts DS couldn't beat Carolina at home, but scored 16,
and 2 zeroes on the scorecard, which made the difference.
Looney QB David Carr was on the bench, he scored 53. The
Dawgs are leading the Lombardi Division with a 5-1 record,
and The Looney are now 1-4-1.

Highlanders 76
Mules 54

In a hard fought game for both teams, the Highlanders come
out on top on the strength of the running back and DS
position. Stephen Davis scores 19 (I know he got hurt,
lets just hope not too bad, this guy is a football player,
possible NFL MVP), Tiki gets 9, the Seahawks DS comes up
with 13, Vanderjagt scores 12, and Tom Brady has a tough
day, for only 11. The Mules Quincy Carter couldn't find
the endzone either, scoring 17, Kasay kicked in another
17, Marcel Shipp ran hard for 9, but just not enough
scoring from the rest of the squad. The Highlanders move
to 3-3, and The Mules are 2-4.

Outlanders 127
Mustangs 84

The Outlanders get their 5th win of the season with Brad
Johnson lighting up the scoreboard again, 268 yards
passing with 4 TDs of 1, 11, 4, and 39 yards, for 48 BFL
points. They also got William Green rolling, for 22, on
145 yards rushing and a TD, the Titans DS scored 22, and
Alexander and Olinde Mare both put up another 12. The
Mustangs got another huge day from Ahman 'Workhorse' Green,
139 rush and a TD, 51 receiving and another TD for 35 BFL
points, but Tommy Maddox couldn't find the endzone (like
many other QBs this week, afore mentioned) for only 18,
the Redskins DS was shutout, and while good scoring from
the rest of the roster positions, just not enough. Steve
McNair was on the Mustangs bench, he scored 67. The
Outlanders are 'far out!', at 5-1 on top of the Halas
Division, and the Mustangs are 2-4.

Ferrets 148
Gizzards 44

The Ferrets dig in, and lead the league in scoring this
week, on the arm of the undefeated Chiefs Trent Green,
who throws for 400 yards and TDs of 26, 10, 51, that is
63 BFL points. The not so newly acquired Dolphins DS
'whale' up 38 more with 3 int (1 TD), 2 fumbles, and 4
sacks, running backs score solid: Hambrick 10, Taylor 9,
Garner 9 (and Derrick "wide receive this" Mason was on the
bench, he scored 57 points!). The Gizzards got 15 from the
undefeated Carolina DS scoring 13, but rough outing from
Doug Johnson who only threw for 13 (even Mike Vick can't
fix Atlanta's problems this year), Grammatica kicked in 10,
but too many zeroes on the starting roster card. The Ferrets
are now 3-3, and the Gizzards are 2-4.
