Week 7 Scores
Some great games again in the BFL week 7, the scoring was
back up, the way we like it, and I even found a reason to
eat some words (not that it doesn't happen often), as
Erickson's gameplan crushed Tampa Bay, unbelievable. Let's
get to it:
Dawgs 119
Mules 116
The Dawgs win by the 'hair of the dawg' again, on the
strength of their running backs, Travis Henry shows he is
back, scoring 32 big points on 167 yards rushing, and TDs
of 4 and 14 yards, Lewis added 12, Williams had 9,
Hasselbeck tossed for 28, the Rams DS dodged for 22, and
Elam kicked for 12. The Mules got stubborn, with Steve
Smith racking up high scorer in the game with 34 points
on 151 yards receiving and a 67 yard TD catch, the rookie
Domanick Davis runs it up for Houston, 128 rushing, 70
receving for 21, Vinny throws for 21, the Browns DS 12,
Kasay booted 10, but needed one more score from just about
anybody. Quincy "MD" Carter was on The Mules bench, he
scored 34 (but the Dawgs got 0 from his receivers, and he
had Joe Horn on the bench, who scored 25). The Dawgs are
now 6-1 leading the Lombardi, and The Mules go to 2-5.
Ferrets 73
Mustangs 69
The Ferrets scoring production went down this week, but
their winning streak didn't, and that is what matters, on
the arm of Trent Green for 27, Hambrick ran for 13, the
Dolphins DS flipped for 12, and everybody else scored, but
Joey Galloway. The Mustangs got 19 from Ahman Green (but he
only had 35 yards rushing on 20 carries against the Kansas
City DS!!), a good receiving day for 19 from Santana Moss,
12 from the Redskins DS, but starting QB scored zero, due
to a bye week, while Steve McNair again was on his bench,
he scored 36. The Ferrets go to 4-3, and The Mustangs are 2-5.
Pipsqueaks 117
Looney 103
The Pipsqueaks throw, run, catch, and play defense, do it
all well, to win this one. Collins tosses for 25, New
Orleans has started to win, and Duece puts up 26 BFL points
along the way, Torry Holt again this week scores big, 25
points, and the Chiefs DS gets it done to stay undefeated,
putting up 23, that is tough to beat. The Looney get a huge
day from Tomlinson, the best player in the NFL on a 1-5
team, scoring 40, on 200 yards rushing and a 70 yard TD,
the Vikings DS keeps them undefeated putting up 30 on 3 int
(1 TD) and 5 sacks, Carr threw for 17, Cundiff kicked in 13,
but his three receivers could only come up with 3 points. The
Pipsqueaks stay on a winning streak (3), and are 4-3, The
Looney go to 1-5-1.
Highlanders 164
Butchers 126
You like numerology? The Highlanders lead the league in
scoring this week, both Owens and McCardell caught TDs
passes of 75 yards! But, got plenty of scoring from other
sources, great score card, QB Kitna passed for 274 yards,
and TDs of 45, 82, and 21 yards, that is 54 BFL points,
Owens scored 34 on 152 receiving, and a 75 yd TD,
McCardell 119 receiving and a 75 yard TD for 26,
everybody else in double figures, except Stephen Davis,
who scored zero. The Butchers also lit up the scoreboard
with 31 from Troy Brown on a 82 yard TD to beat the
Dolphins, 24 from the 49ers DS, Hearst ran for 22, Moe
"Points" Williams scored 16, but Joey Harrington could
only score 3 (yes, 3 points) at the QB position. The
Butchers had Aaron Brooks on the bench, he scored 58
(side note: ouch). The Highlanders also have a 3 game
winning streak, and are 4-3, and The Butchers are 2-5.
Outlanders 158
Gizzards 117
The Outlanders score big, Brad Johnson gets 35, the Titans
DS put up 33 on 4 fumbles (1 TD) and 4 sacks, Chad Johnson
scores 31 on 130 receiving and a 82 yard TD, Alexander
runs for another 29, and good scoring on the rest of the
roster. The Gizzards score with the return of Culpepper,
he got 47 BFL points on 277 passing, with TDs of 47 and 59
yards, Stallworth pulled in 22, Randy Moss caught for 151
yards (but no TDs) for 18 points, and everybody else scored,
but just not enough. The Outlander lead The Halas Division
by 3 games now, and have a 5 game winning streak (longest
in the league this year) and The Gizzards are 2-5.
Meeks 108
Manglers 56
The Meeks almost double The Manglers score with newly
acquired Marc Bulger claiming high scorer in the game,
with 44, on 247 yards passing, and 3 TDs of 39, 9, and 20,
Portis got 22, Westbrook got a TD for 13 and the Bucs DS
put up 12. The Manglers got another good game from Priest
Holmes who put up 25 on 123 rush, a TD, and 50 receiving,
Pochman kicked in 10, but Brees could only throw for 7
(side note: ouch), Gordon and Betts went out early,
scoring zero each. The Manglers had Garcia on the bench
(41), and the Dallas DS (27). The Meeks get back to
winning, leading the Landry Division by 3.5 games at 5-1-1,
and The Manglers drop to 3-4.
======================================
It looks like the Lomardi Division is getting the best of
everybody, every team has a winning record, even after
having to play each other through the first round of
division play, very impressive, guys!
