Describe a situation in a book or film where a frightening or unpleasant experience made  a character feel closer to a friend. In the Last Samurai Tom Cruz and his friend have just been shot about 500 times with a gatling gun and are some how still alive. Tom's friend wants him to help in his suicide at first Tom doesn't want to but then he does. When he stabs him I believe that they were closer than ever before. Tom says "I will miss our talks together." and that was significant in a way that showed that they were good friends. Also Tom's friend asked him to help kill himself which showed that at that moment that they were closer than ever before.
