Activities:

Orientation - Read rules and talked about having a fire drill. We made a pretend fire out of colored paper and laminated it. We explain how fire drill works at beginning of camp. During the camp sometime, a leader will put he fire somewhere in the camp site. If a girl is to find the fire, she is to go to the designated alarm and ler everyone know there is a fire. Then we all go to our designated meeting spot. Orientation was as follows:

Halloween Party

It wasn't much. We dressed up and ate goodies then sang some (corny) halloween songs and talked. J.L. Kathleen made a mystery drink which all the girl drank. During the day, the girls and the leaders saw a huge chain tied to a tree. We made jokes about it being from a monster that got away. Well, we talked about all day and night and at the campfire, we heard strange noises and of course blamed it on the monster. Then, while the girls were at the Halloween pary, J.L. Kathleen put here (two-headed monster) costume on and tied a piece of the chain around her leg. Then she walked in the dark without a flashlight to the bottom of the hill near the party and slowly walked up the hill. Later, the girls said they heard the chains and saw the white part of the costume. Of course, they knew it was me but they played along. I even tied one of the girls to a tree (she knew it was all in good fun) and tried to scare the rest. It was hilarious.

The Girls

The girls were great. We only had 6 girls so we slept in cabins and they were great. I warned them that I was going to the bathroom and when I came back, it would be lights out. Well, when I got back, the lights were out, they were all in bed and QUIET! Yes, I am not lying. They were good sports for the monster deal, no one was a spoil sport and they were just plain great.
