Other Information |
Climate The climate is hot and dry throughout the year. Light rainfall may be expected during the months of June, July and August and again from October to December. Since morning hours of December and January can be cold, light woolens are advisable. Dress Dress in modest, clean and sober clothing at all times. Whites are mostly preferred. Your dress reflects your love and respect for Bhagawan. Wearing of shorts or sleeveless shirts is strictly prohibited. Women are required to dress down to their ankles and wrap their fronts with a proper shawl. Tight or see-through dresses are not permitted, as also beach or sportswear. Avoid garish clothes. It is best to get yourself a pair of local sandals. Do not display unorthodox hairstyles, over-matted hair, Tallset hair etc., or wear large obtrusive hats especially in the Darshan line. Above all, clothe yourself to neither attract nor distract others. |
Men and Women |
Men and women are not expected to mix for the sake of passing time either outside or inside the rooms. These are distractions and pull your being outwardly, promoting duality. Indian social habits do not approve of men and women indulging in physical contact or publicly expressing their greetings or affection. Please follow the Indian custom while you stay here. Disregard those who claim association with Bhagawan or claim to have inner or special messages from Bhagawan. He has said that His connection with each one of us is 'Direct' and requires no intermediary or agency. Do not encourage or have contact with them; exchanging experiences or addresses. They only do so with ulterior motives leading ultimately to unpleasantness. |
Safety Lockers |
A certain number of lockers are available, free of cost at the Public Relations Office for Overseas devotees. Three or four persons together are eligible for one, if you are staying in the same hall. If perchance, the key is lost, report immediately as there is no duplicate, as well as for security reasons. The replacement of the lock must be paid for. . |
Cloak Rooms |
Two cloakrooms are provided for the safe keeping of non-valuable articles, one each for men and women. The men's cloakroom is located adjacent to the Security office and the women's cloak room is located next to the Public Relations Office on the Western end, opposite the Indian Canteen. Please be careful with the tokens of receipt and observe the timings. They are open from 4-00 A.M. to 10-00 A.M. and 1-00 P.M. to 7-00 P.M. |
Lost and Found Property |
Devotees who find any lost article are expected to deposit it in the Public Relations Office immediately. Those who wish to claim their lost property may do so at the same office on proper production of identity. In this context, devotees are advised to be very careful with their cash, jewelry and other valuables, while moving about in the various regions of the Ashram. |
Wheel Chair for Handicaped Persons |
Handicapped devotees may inform the Public Relations Office while registering. There are a few ground floor rooms and wheel chairs. When issued, the wheel chairs must be maintained with care, kept inside the rooms, away from children and on no account taken out of the Ashram. Please return them on the specified date to facilitate others in distress. |
Laundry |
Authorised washermen (Dhobis) are allotted to various blocks and halls of residence. You may check their Identity Cards and report to the Security Office if there is any irregularity. Rates for washing each piece of cloth is notified at the Public Relations Office. |
