Ashram Programme

Spirituality in Ashram is a way of life. The Ashram wakes up to a new life everyday at Brahmamuhurtham (early hours of the morning) which is most auspicious for spiritual sadhana. The aspirants chant the Pranava, the primordial sound, which creates powerful vibrations. This is followed by Suprabatham (verses in praise of the Lord) which seeks to awaken the divinity within. The Nagarsankirtan (going round singing Bhajans) performed by men as well as women purifies the atmosphere with divine vibrations.
The most coveted hour in the daily routine of Prasanthi Nilayam is Darshan. In the hour of Darshan, Bhagawan goes around the devotees who are seated in the Sai Kulwant Hall, accepting their letters, listening to their prayers, clarifying their doubts, solving their problems, healing their diseases (physical and mental) and uplifting them. Regarding Darshan, Bhagawan Himself said, " My Darshan is My Gift to Mankind". Bhagawan chooses some people for interview and the moments spent with Bhagawan in the interview room are the most precious moments in the life of spiritual aspirants. In these interviews, many a sadhaka is baptized and is brought to his pristine purity, for he is washed in the divine waters of love that flow from the fountain of Prema that Bhagawan is. The most mysterious, mystifying and elevating things happen in the interview room. Bhagawan fulfils the innermost wishes of devotees, material and spiritual. The interview is, in fact, an " inner view". for many spiritual aspirants.
The interviews are followed by Bhajans in the Mandir. Bhajans in Prasanthi Nilayam are unique since they are of universal scope and appeal. The Bhajans extol deities of different religions and uphold the unity of faiths. The Hindus and Muslims, The Jews and the Christians, The Buddhist and the Jains, The Parsis and The Sikhs find themselves equally at home while singing the Bhajans in Prasanthi Nilayam. It is a unique experience to sit in the Bhajan Hall and have the vision of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba seated on a throne absorbing the prayers of His devotees.
Bhagawan blesses His devotees again in the evening with Darshan followed by Bhajans. Bhagawan is busy throughout the day and is ever in action so that mankind may emulate His example.
