U.S. PATENT MODELS-PART 3
This is a rather unique awning for a store front. Instead of being made from cloth that folds up, it consists of either thin boards or metal sheets which slide down a track to keep out the sun, or can be cranked up next the building to let the sun shine in.
Patented in 1860 by D. Sowle, this rather complicated lozenge machine was apparently designed to manufacture cough drops.
