Three ultras killed in J&K
Srinagar, Feb 3. (PTI): Security personnel today foiled an infiltration
bid along the Line of Control killing two Pakistan trained militants
in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here
said.
The spokesman said two LeT militants identified as Dilawar Ahmad
alias Zabiullah and Mudasir Ahmad Wani alias Saifullah were arrested
in Donama area in Jammu region.
Besides arms and ammunition, the militants were carrying Rs six
lakhs in Indian currency in cricket bats, the spokesman said.
A group of militants infiltrated into Balakote area of the district
around 0800 hours under the cover of shelling by Pakistani troops
but were engaged in an exchange of fire by the security personnel
in which two of them were killed, they said.
An unidentified militant was also killed when militants attacked
security forces wounding six people, including two women, since
last evening.
The militant was killed in a gun battle with security forces
in Balakote area in Jammu region's Poonch district, an official
spokesman said, adding some arms and ammunition were recovered
from the scene.
He said militants lobbed a grenade at a security force vehicle
which missed the target and exploded on the road injuring four
civilians, including two women, at Wazirbagh here.
Militants fired at an army patrol injuring a jawan at Khawaja
Sahib in Baramulla district.
A police constable was injured when militants fired at him in
Behrampora village in Kupwara district.
