Summer Trip
Finally, I am back from 1500 mile round trip to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Drove almost 1500 miles in 4 days. Long drives is something I love to do. Always amazing Universal Studios, Fremont street, Hoover Dam, The Strip in Vegas and Auto Bahn of US (I-5) were among the highlights of this trip.
Largest display screen in the world on fremont st. in vegas is a very good experience for first timers. Since, I can't gamble beyond slot machines Las Vegas is not a place where I could spend more than 2 days (I must admit that I am not too comfortable loosing money in a Casino). Also, 100 degrees at midnight didn't add to the comfort either.
I picked Friday and Monday to drive on Auto Bahn (I-5) because it is less crowded by rowdy drives who drive over 100 mph and pass from left and right of vehicles ahead. Dangerous it may sound but 85 mph seems normal on that once you are out of San Fernando Valley upto I-580 intersection. And, cops are nowhere to be found unless there is an accident.
